Learning Through Play Every Day
Every day at the Cylch is full of exciting activities that help children learn and develop
At Cylch Meithrin Casmael, we offer a wide variety of activities that encourage children to explore, create, and learn. Our sessions are carefully planned to ensure that every child has rich and engaging experiences.
A Typical Day:
- Welcome and Circle Time - Songs, stories, and chats
- Free Play - Choosing activities of interest
- Snack Time - Time to eat and relax
- Group Activity - Art, music, or sensory
- Outdoor Time - Playing outside
- Story and Hwyl Fawr - Calm end to the session
Sensory Play
Exploring the world through the senses
Sensory play is a vital part of our program. It allows children to explore different textures, colors, smells, and sounds.
Examples of Sensory Activities:
- Sand and water
- Playdough and clay
- Sensory bins with rice, pasta, or beans
- Finger painting and textures
- Slime and sensory jellies
These activities help children develop fine motor skills, language, and cooperation.

Music and Songs
Music is an essential part of our program. We sing Welsh songs every day, which helps children learn the language in a fun and natural way.
Our Musical Activities:
- Traditional Welsh songs
- Nursery rhymes
- Percussion and rhythm instruments
- Movement and dancing to music
- Action songs
Music develops listening skills, memory, and coordination, as well as fostering a love for the Welsh language.
